Weekend Update
My last un-employed weekend will go down as being a great one.
Friday, head home to Buffalo with Brad, Bryan and Lauren, to hit the Chipewa
bars with Lauren’s friends. An odd communications error had our Rochester
faction split off early in the night for some porch drinking at the bars.
Waking up saturday, myself and Brad headed to my folks house for a traditional
Jay breakfast, which lasted about 45 minutes and consisted of eggs, sausage,
pancakes, OJ the whole nine yards. Then I rolled from the table and into the
car, destination casino (yes, two weeks in a row, and no I don’t have a
gambling problem). I proceeded to lose last weeks winnings and short order,
but three good things did come of this outing. 1) I have now hooked Bryan on
blackjack, so I am richer one more gambling buddy. 2) We ran into Elissa and
Chad in the Poker room, nice to catch up with them (they invited us to a Texas
Hold-em game on Wednesday nights). And 3) I ate back a good part of my losses
at the casino buffet, Salmon, Steaks and Shrimp, oh my! Saturday evening was
spent in downtown Buffalo at a free concert by Ben Folds, where we ran into
Jermiah and his ladyfriend Jenga, very cool to see people I haven’t seen in
over a year. They’re both doing well, each a year into their grad studies.
Sunday, the Ren fest! I wish I could tell you about that day, but everything
after the turkey leg is blurry. Steak on a Stake still rocks though.
And today, I shot a 99 at Churchville, its only my second time breaking 100,
so I’m pretty happy about it. Especially considering that four of the last
holes were played in a downpour.
