May you live in interesting times…

So yeah, interesting week. I can’t say too much yet, but I think I have some interesting things developing, and luckily, it looks like I’m a good bet to come out on top of it all. Not every day you can say that.

Also, I’m contemplating doing a film entry on worst movie ever: Napolean Dynamite or Meet the Parents. One gives me a nervous tick, and the other one I almost walked out of the theater on (although I’m embarrassed to admin I chuckled at Dustin Hoffman in the Meet the Fuckers (get it? It sounds like fuck, so it’s naughty (I love nested parenthesis!!!1!!one!))). The only problem is there’s no way in hell I want to watch either movie again, so I’ll do it from memory, or get drunk and make it up as I go along.

Discuss.

Ramblings…

Yeah Bills, we actually don’t suck anymore. The whole team has been playing great, and I’m still holding out hope for playoffs (and yeah, tiebreakers go against us, but what the hell). I’ll have to look into what we lose next year for salary cap (Bledsoe is the big question), but I think we can do some damage next year also. The Jets can be overtaken, and it looks like the Patriots brain trust is finally being broken up with Weis going to Notre Dame. Also, come playoffs I’m going to start my predictions up again.

Rochester has been very delayed in getting its snow this year. Every day it’s rainy and gray makes me want to be in SF even more. And yes, weather is the big thing the Bay has over Boston right now. The plan is still end of summer, but I could see me snapping in March and just moving out early.

I had a great, albeit melancholy line the other night, “isn’t it sad how boring life gets once you’re out of college?”. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with everything, good job, decent social schedule, but at least four days a week are just, work, gym, bar/random beers. Fun and all, but not setting the world on fire. I still keep telling myself I’ll be in SF (which I’m now putting at 90%+) but I still need to kill another 9 months in Rochester. To help fight the rut, I finally broke down and signed up for friendster, to see who else is in this town I don’t already know. (Does anyone else still use it? If so, invite me in your friend circle, right now I’m an electronic loner).

Spread the word, I’m putting together a poker tournament for Super Bowl Sunday. Start around 2pm, $10 entry, prize money split among the top 3 finishers. I’m aiming for 15-20 people in, so a pretty good pot for all involved. Let me know if you’re interested.

East coast what!

A big thanks to chris, amanda, Kerin and Dan for making my weekend a blast.Boston and the surrounding area is great ( and yes Amanda, it’s still sadly #2 on my list of places to be, sorry :) ) . I must say, there’s nothing like a few beers with great friends to reset your mood. November was a rough month for a miriad of reasons, and now that I’m officially living alone, this winter should be interesting. I’m in a much better mood then I was a week ago, and I’m now in official holiday spirit.

And sorry about the long delays between posts, but I didn’t want to turn this into an emo wine fest.

All I want for Christmas is tacos and…

  • American Roullete
  • Lighting for my Apt (wall plugin, track lighting)
  • Other Apartment niceties (wall stuff)
  • Oxford shirts
  • sweaters
  • khakis (no pleats, flat front)
  • UCB, Season 1 on DVD

I’ll take soon to be unlisted phone numbers for $1000 Ken

Owned! It’s the new number to call when drunk.
