And get over to this site. The youtube of ringtones, sent directly to your phone. Who knows how legal it is, but rest assured that my phone will be instructing me to ghost ride the whip everytime you call.
So I’ve moved on from my humble homegrown php scripts into wordpress, mainly because i was too lazy to write my own rss syndication. ironically, I had to write a rss engine to import all my old entries (comments not withstanding), ironic eh?
Linky. From what I’ve play with so far, it seems to be a pretty sweet little machine. Music and phots stream fine over wifi, as does non DVD MPEGs (still yet to test that one). Adding in a neat little add on media server called Tversity, and I can stream Online music and TV. Very cool stuff. Also, I’ve officially changed my sport following gears the past month. While the Bills have gone into the tank, the Sabres are playing the best hockey I’ve seen since they made their Stanley Cup run. Biron just recorded his 12th straight win, the team’s only lost one game of their last 16 (and that was in a shoot-out, so they still got a point). Just a great team to watch, they roll four aggressive, skilled offensive lines, and they’ve overcome big injuries (to their #1 goalie, and two big scorers). The only hurdle left is Ottawa, who has been the best team far and away in the entire league. The money I spent on NHL Center Ice instead of Sunday Ticket is really paying off :).
Sorry for another nerd blog, but I must confer my thoughts. If you design web pages, please stop using table layouts. I mean it, if you find yourself nesting a table within a table to get something to look right for your flow, stop, and kick yourself right in the box. Because that’s what you’re also doing to anyone who has to deal with your site down the line.XHTML cleans up your html, it lets you separate content from design. It makes printing your websites a snap. No more font tags, no more tables nested 8 deep. It’s the web as it was meant to be. Look at CSS Zen Garden and be awed at what’s possible.
Luckily, Microsoft is joining the party, albeit three years late. Whidbey (the next Visual Studio) will allow xhtml strict output, and ie7 will start supporting web standards, thank god.
