So after months of negotiations, the lady is officially on the road heading to california (First stop, Cleveland! The only city left jealous of buffalo!). The current ETA is next sunday night for arrival. So basically, this is my last weekend to sit around in a wife beater and play poker.
And with any luck in one month we move into a nice 2br apartment up in San Francisco proper.
And as if this week wasn’t good enough, I just got the lady and myself tickets to go see Dave Chappelle in 2 weeks
Oh burn. that just hurts

So now that the sabres are down 3-2 in the series, I can only imagine the panick back home. I posted this on a blog this morning, it bears repeating…
I moved out of buffalo/rochester last october, and I have to say living away from some of all this is nice. I watch all the sabres games (and bills), just enjoying them without that desperation edge of “this game means everything to the town” feeling that just gives people ulcers back home. Like you all said, this is the most fun (and talented team) I’ve watched come out of buffalo. They’ve played an incredible season and are built for the long term. There’s no shame for the city if it had to end tonight (I do like our chances tho).
For any of you that dont read bill simmons (the sports guy), you should. He rails against the old boston media who does nothing but antagonize the fans with gloom and doom just to boost ratings. This year isnt wide right, it isn’t no goal. It’s a great team that went from nowhere to the eastern finals (at least) and played a hell of a year.
Go sabres!

Ok, so most of you have heard that I’m coming back to visit soon, here’s the rough itineray at the moment.
Arrive thurs in Blo, stay there until friday night, when I’ll come out to rochester (poker game, plates, Coyotes, golf, some combination?)
Saturday morning, Katie’s graduation. Saturday afternoon-> night in Rochester
Sunday, Mother’s day in buffalo.
Monday - ?
Tuesday - head back
Wow, just wow. 4 or 5 marquee players available to the bills with the #8 pick (including Matt Leinart) and we take a nobody Safety from OSU. I just can’t believe it. Marv Levy is a senile old man, and has quickly burned through all his good karma with the town. The coach he hired over a proven winner, the extra money he through to Price and Favre’s backup that he didnt need to spend, I just have a horrible feeling.
A very big congratulations to my friends Pat and Fran, and their new daughter Greta Olive Reed.

From cnn…
In Rochester, New York, the temperature plunged from 60 degrees to the 30s in a few hours overnight. Rochester Gas and Electric Corp. officials said 1,000 customers were already without power by dawn.
Good luck with all that. People out here are bitching because it dropped from 68 to 52 this week.
Wow, tonight was one of those sporting events I’ll remember for a long time, up there with the Houston Comeback, Derek Plante in OT, and the Sabres run to the Stanley Cup. Tonight, RIT upset nationally ranked St. Lawrence (#18 in the nation), 3-2. They were outshot 68-14 (!) but the RIT goalie Giumond was all-world, stopping everything they threw at him, including 47 power play shots on goal. Simply unbelievable. I was yelling at my computer for the whole third period (including the tigers killing of a 5 minute major to start the third). Thrilling game, the biggest of the program by far, great day to be a fan.

Also, here’s a shot of my current work set up, complete with ergo keyboard & mouse, and dual 19” flat panel dells :).

So I’m here, all pictures are up, sans Nevada* (on Dad’s camera). Yeah, there’s a lot of nature scenes, they were fantastic to view, if you can ever drive across country, go for it. This whole things a bit of a gamble, and I won’t pretend I didn’t have a lot of butterflies about the whole venture. This whole summer in Rochester was a blast and a great time, hard to walk away from all I built up there, not to mention finally finding a great lady friend. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy I’m here, I just have plenty of reasons to go back and visit.Helping this transition is Craigslist, if you don’t regularly check this site you really should. I’ve set up four interviews from this site (and another bite or two from Monster suprisingly). Great little site that not enough people know about (which sounds crazy as everyone in the Bay lives by it). On the subject of website shout outs, check out partyben.com, lots of crazy song mashups & remixes.
*Quick Nevada recap for those tracking my gambling problem. Lost 125 on blackjack, only to make a blistering comeback on 3/6 limit hold ‘em. I broke even for the 2 days.
